Social and Recreational - Day Trips
May 18, 2022
Ability Matters believes that social and recreational activities should include both day trips and vacations. Getting away from the “everyday” is as important as having a routine. We strive to have day trips available at least once every other week in March-October. These trips may involve up to 2.5 hours of travel time from Columbus so compensation for staff travel is an important consideration. We have found Friday to be the best day for day trips so Festivals and Fairs are open. During COVID-19, we had to opt for more home-based activities, but we have been happy to phase day trips back in as things have opened back up. Below are some of the activities that the individuals we serve enjoy annually.
